Breathe, I instruct myself firmly, staring adamantly at Lucius’ shoulder and trying to look at least partially pleased to be there.
‘Dearly beloved, we are gathered here today…’
I look up at Lucius, his gaze calculating as he looks at me, smiling for appearances but clearly put off by my obvious reluctance. I turn my eyes away from his, knowing that as much as I wish to, I can’t replace his grey orbs with molten hazel, or replace his cold, smooth hands with warm, calloused ones. I can’t replace his icy demeanour with James’ passionate, protective one. I glance at my father over Lucius’ shoulder, who is tense, alert.
I can’t.
‘If any person can show just cause why they may not be joined together, speak now-’ The priest’s words slow to a halt as everyone in the room suddenly becomes aware of a commotion in the hall outside, and I turn my gaze towards the doors, my heart beating loudly in my ears. Everyone is staring at the doors now, listening to the yelling that is growing steadily closer…
‘LILY!’ A few people closest shriek as the wooden doors suddenly burst open, and I drop Lucius’ hands, feeling myself instinctively turn towards the intruder, both fear and relief flowing through my veins at the sight of him.

the doctor: Because you’re special. That crack in your wall, all that time, the universe pouring into your head. You brought Rory back… you can bring them back , too. You just remember, and they’ll be there.

the doctor: You’ll have your family back. You won’t need your imaginary friend anymore. Ha! Amy Pond… crying over me, eh? Guess what?
